THE INTERNATIONALIZATION PROCESS OF BCS IN INDIA

This master's thesis investigates the dynamics of the internationalization process of BCS, a tractor manufacturing company headquartered in Abbiategrasso (MI), Italy. The primary objective is to analyze the various stages that led the company to establish a production subsidiary in India. The study, grounded in the theoretical frameworks presented during the Internationalization Process course, aims to examine both the procedural aspects and the challenges encountered during the establishment of the foreign subsidiary, as well as the subsequent benefits the company has derived from this venture to date. The findings—interpreted in light of the managerial insights provided directly by the company—offer empirical evidence supporting the rationale for internationalization. Furthermore, it is hoped that this analysis may serve as a potential roadmap for any small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) considering the relocation of part of its production activities abroad.
