This thesis explores the Make-or-Buy analysis through the case study of Ferrari S.p.A., with the aim of providing structured support for decisions regarding the insourcing or outsourcing of production components. The work is structured into three main parts. The first presents a real application of the Make-or-Buy approach concerning the insourcing of a series of subassemblies previously manufactured by an external supplier, with their direct integration into the internal assembly lines. The second and third parts focus on future perspectives. In particular, the second part is devoted to the development of layout solutions for the implementation of preparation areas intended to accommodate components suitable for insourcing but not directly insertable into the assembly line due to technical or logistical constraints. Alternative configurations are therefore developed, oriented toward flow efficiency and consistency with the existing production organization. The third part concerns the design of a multicriteria decision-making algorithm based on the hybrid AHP–TOPSIS approach. The AHP method is used to determine the weights of the decision criteria, while TOPSIS enables the ranking of the alternatives, insourcing or outsourcing, based on their distance from the ideal solutions.. The model is applied to real components currently under company evaluation in order to verify its effectiveness and replicability. Overall, the thesis proposes an integrated approach that combines economic analysis, layout design, and decision modeling, contributing to making the Make-or-Buy process more objective, structured, and consistent with the complexity of the automotive context.

Abstract
Overall, the thesis proposes an integrated approach that combines economic analysis, layout design, and decision modeling, contributing to making the Make-or-Buy process more objective, structured, and consistent with the complexity of the automotive context.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
