This thesis explores the continuum between education and nature in light of the transformations brought about by digital society, which offers increasing opportunities for access to information and global connection, while also posing risks related to sedentary lifestyles, misinformation, and relational impoverishment. In a context marked by pervasive urbanization and digitalization, there is a growing need to rethink the balance of educational practices by restoring the formative value of direct experiences in natural environments. The study examines Outdoor Education (OE) as a pedagogical approach grounded in experiential learning, capable of fostering the holistic development of the individual through meaningful contact with the natural environment. It analyzes the theoretical foundations of OE, the psychophysical, cognitive, emotional, and relational benefits of nature-based experiences, and the role of loose parts and spontaneous play as key learning tools. Special attention is given to Adventure/Experiential Education within the Italian Catholic Scouts Association (AGESCI), focusing on the L/C branch. The empirical section presents a case study conducted in the Pontremoli 1 and Parma 5 groups, aimed at investigating the meaning perspective and practical implementation of Outdoor Education principles within the Scout method. Through interviews and qualitative data analysis, the research highlights both strengths and critical aspects of the Scout educational experience, emphasizing its potential to promote autonomy, responsibility, relational skills, and ecological awareness. The thesis argues that Outdoor Education should be understood not merely as a teaching methodology, but as a comprehensive educational philosophy capable of addressing the challenges of the twenty-first century by fostering a renewed balance between the digital dimension and nature and supporting the harmonious development of younger generations.
