This thesis stems from the need to strengthen the end of line phase of the clutch system in order to increase process control, standardise procedures, improve product quality and, consequently, enhance customer satisfaction and reinforce the excellence of the Pagani brand. In line with the company’s philosophy of continuous improvement, a study was carried out starting from the current state of the art and from the internal procedures currently adopted at Pagani. This led to the development of a tailor made break in test bench designed for the specific needs of Pagani Automobili and, through data analysis using Bosch Windarab software, to the definition of the key components of the bench and of the break in cycle required to ensure repeatable, high quality behaviour of the clutches under test. This test bench ensures optimal and standardised transfer layer generation on the friction plates, eliminating performance variability, preventing thermal anomalies such as glazing or warping of the intermediate discs, and guaranteeing that every transmission meets the stringent release parameters set by Pagani Automobili.
