This thesis analyzes the effectiveness of a laboratory and experiential approach in teaching complex concepts such as paleontology, biological evolution, and geological time in primary school. Developed in collaboration with the CEAS Terre Reggiane - Tresinaro Secchia, the project involved third- and fifth-grade students in an educational program focused on tactile learning and the scientific method. Through the manipulation of authentic local fossils and the use of stereoscopes, students explored the cognitive transition from everyday time to Earth's "deep time." The action-research methodology allowed for constant monitoring of learning, which was quantified through the compilation of diagnostic questionnaires in the PRE- and POST-intervention phases. The results highlight a significant conceptual restructuring: the practical-emotional approach enabled the deconstruction of entrenched misconceptions derived from the media, fostering wonder and developing a solid critical and systemic spirit in the students.

Abstract
The results highlight a significant conceptual restructuring: the practical-emotional approach enabled the deconstruction of entrenched misconceptions derived from the media, fostering wonder and developing a solid critical and systemic spirit in the students.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
