The university experience represents a crucial stage in students’ lives, encompassing not only academic challenges but also social integration, housing, and personal well-being. However, this period is often marked by fragmentation, isolation, and a lack of effective tools to support students in managing both academic and everyday difficulties. In response to these issues, this thesis presents UNImeet, an integrated digital platform designed to enhance student well-being and foster a stronger sense of community. The project combines theoretical reflections from urban sociology, digital society studies, and the concepts of communitas and immunitas (Esposito) with practical design methodologies in UX and UI. UNImeet aims to centralize academic resources, promote collaborative study, provide secure housing opportunities, and facilitate networking both during and after university life. Unlike existing solutions, which remain fragmented and focus on single aspects of student life, UNImeet proposes a holistic approach where digital interaction serves as a bridge to offline engagement and social cohesion. Methodologically, the research follows a user-centered design process, employing surveys, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing with students from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. This iterative approach ensures that the platform reflects real student needs while promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and intuitive interaction. UNImeet is conceived not merely as a digital tool, but as an ecosystem capable of strengthening solidarity, reducing isolation, and fostering a supportive environment that accompanies students throughout their academic journey and beyond.

Abstract
UNImeet is conceived not merely as a digital tool, but as an ecosystem capable of strengthening solidarity, reducing isolation, and fostering a supportive environment that accompanies students throughout their academic journey and beyond.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
