This master’s thesis presents the calibration and control strategies developed for a naturally aspirated, five‑cylinder spark‑ignition racing engine (C05) designed and tested at Autotecnica Motori. The work follows the engine from early 1D performance modelling and mechanical layout, through preparation for first fire‑up, to base calibration on the dynamometer and a first assessment of performance deficit and reliability constraints. The overall goal is to define a coherent and reproducible calibration workflow that guarantees safe initial operation and robust base behaviour, providing a starting point for later performance optimisation rather than a final race‑ready specification.

Abstract
This master’s thesis presents the calibration and control strategies developed for a naturally aspirated, five‑cylinder spark‑ignition racing engine (C05) designed and tested at Autotecnica Motori. The work follows the engine from early 1D performance modelling and mechanical layout, through preparation for first fire‑up, to base calibration on the dynamometer and a first assessment of performance deficit and reliability constraints. The overall goal is to define a coherent and reproducible calibration workflow that guarantees safe initial operation and robust base behaviour, providing a starting point for later performance optimisation rather than a final race‑ready specification.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
